TERMS & CONDITIONS
We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time. Any such changes will take effect immediately when posted on the Website or otherwise brought to your attention. It is your responsibility to read the Terms each time you submit a booking request and any such request shall signify that you have accepted to be bound by the latest set of Terms.
Guests are permitted to bring one car per tent booking, however if a guest wishes to bring an additional vehicle, this is classed as an add-on and there is a nightly charge for this.
Guests are able to book all add-ons including additional vehicles, gazebos and dogs at the time of booking. All add-ons must be ordered and paid for before the arrival date. We reserve the right to refuse any add-on additions not pre-arranged.
All guests must check in with a member of the campsite staff and adhere to the campsite rules. We reserve the right to terminate your booking early if you break the rules.
Check in for open camping and touring pitches is from 14:00 each day and for glampers is 16:00 each day. Glampers may access the site from 14:00 on the day of arrival but may not be able to access their accommodation until 16:00. Check in closes at 20:00 each day. If you think you might struggle to arrive in time you must contact us to discuss your travel plans.
Check out for open camping and touring pitches is 11:00. We ask that glamping pitches check out by 10am to allow our cleaners extra time for cleaning due to COVID 19. All accommodation must be empty at this time to allow the space to safely air before the cleaners arrive.
All fires must be off the ground in fire pits using the wood sold by Bruton Meadow. You are not permitted to use your own wood nor collect from the forest. BBQs are permitted if they are raised off the ground. We can provide bricks if needed. BBQs and fires must be supervised by an adult at all times. In extremely hot weather, fires may not be permitted due to the risk of spread of fire.
Dirty water, rubbish and any waste/recycling must be disposed of in the indicated areas.
You must ensure children in your party are properly supervised at all times and in all areas of the campsite. Please do not allow your children to run between tents in the evening or disturb other sleeping guests.
No amplified music such as car stereos, builder’s radios or sound bars are permitted. We also request no loud instruments such as bongos or drums are to be played on site.
The campsite is split into zones so that we can accommodate all groups. Our general camping zone has a music curfew of 23:00 but we do allow low level chatter until later. Our quiet zone has a music curfew of 21:30 and we ask that any noise from then on is kept to a minimum.
If we have reports of inappropriate behaviour, use of bad language, excessive alcohol consumption or recreational drug use, this will result in IMMEDIATE termination of your holiday without any refund whatsoever. We reserve the right to cancel or terminate your holiday without consultation, compensation and with immediate effect if you or any member of your party act inappropriately towards other guests, staff, any property belonging to the campsite or any of its guests.
No hen/stag parties, weddings or large adult only groups are allowed.
No drones or kites are allowed to be used at Bruton Meadow campsite for safety reasons.
We do not allow any form of deliveries to site, be it food from a supermarket or your new tent from Amazon.
Smoking is permitted on site but we ask that you give space and respect groups around you, especially those with children. We also ask that you ensure cigarette butts are properly extinguished and disposed in the bin. Smoking is not permitted inside on within a 5m radius of the glamping tents.
The use of generators is not permitted on site.
We would prefer you not to have day visitors here as we are trying to be careful not to have too many different groups of people on-site. If you wish to have visitors please get in touch with us about your plans before your stay starts.
Dogs are allowed on site but must be kept on a lead and supervised at all times and fouling must be cleaned up immediately. There is a nightly charge to bring a dog which can be ordered and paid for when booking online.
As our site is located in a rural environment, we do not accept responsibility for any damage, injury or inconvenience caused by the weather, plants, trees, insects, animals or wildlife.
Bruton Meadow accept no responsibility whatsoever for damage, loss or theft of items belonging to guests during their stay at Bruton Meadow campsite. Guests are entirely responsible for their own property and the behaviour of their party at all times.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to the reception immediately.
All bookings via our online system should be treated as provisional until you receive confirmation from us via email, you should receive an email from us within 48 hours. On booking a 25% deposit is taken, the balance is due 14 days before the start of your stay. If the booking is less than 14 days from the date of your stay the full price of the stay will be taken.
If the balance is not paid by the due date Bruton Meadow Campsite reserves the right to re-let the accommodation and retain the deposit.
Your booking must be paid for in full before arrival.
Bruton Meadow only accepts bookings from persons over 18 years of age. We reserve the right, at all times and without statement of reasons to refuse or cancel a booking. The prices featured on the website are not binding; Bruton Meadow reserves the right to modify these prices.
For open camping and touring pitches there is a minimum 2 night stay. For glamping pitches we offer fixed booking slots as either 3 night weekend stays (Fri, Sat & Sun Night) or 4 night weekday stays (Mon, Tues, Wed & Thurs Nights).
Open camping prices are based on the number of people sharing a pitch. Notify us if you wish to amend your booking. You must inform us and pay for any extra guests.
Whilst we make every effort to ensure that our prices remain unchanged, we reserve the right to amend them at any time.
Bookings are non-transferable to another party.
By making a booking, you are agreeing to our terms and conditions and agree that at least one member of your booking is aged 21 or over and takes full responsibility for any damage or loss caused by any member of your party.
We cannot accept any cancellations within 28 days of your travel date for any reason whatsoever. Please see our cancellation terms below.
It is your responsibility to check for email correspondence from “us” and if you change any of your contact details you must let us know immediately so that we can update your customer account. Failure to do so could result in you missing important information about your holiday, receiving payment reminders/ and confirmations. If you don’t provide us with your new contact details, we will not be responsible or issue any refund whatsoever for any expense incurred by you as a result. Please check your spam folders as some emails will come from our general email address, but others may come from the booking platform.
SAFETY & RESPONSIBILITY
You will be staying near a farm with animals, potentially dangerous farm equipment and deep ponds amongst other hazards. It is your responsibility to watch your children at all times.
Please do not enter any of our fields or open any farm gates. If you would like to go for a walk please ask us where to go.
Please be aware that some of the guest equipment, including the barbecues and wood burning stoves can be dangerous if misused, we will show you how everything works when you arrive and we’re always available during your stay if you need our help. Children must be supervised at all times.
Tents are set in farmland, the terrain can be uneven and has rabbit and mole holes in places. Please make all your group wears suitable footwear and we recommend you bring wellies!
The hedges and fences may have barbed or electric wire around them, please do not climb on them. The animals on the farm are not tame pets, do not feed them, go into their grazing fields or stroke them without asking us first. Some animals are really friendly, some are not! If you do touch an animal you must wash your hands with soap and water immediately afterwards. Pregnant women should not touch any of the animals.
We would ask all our guests to be aware of social distancing rules and to self-regulate and be responsible.
We ask you not to come if you or anyone in your party are suffering from symptoms of Covid-19. If you feel unwell during your stay we ask you to follow government guidelines and leave the site, go home and self-isolate immediately.
We will provide hand sanitiser which must be used before entering and when leaving the facilities. Please also bring your own hand sanitisers and use them frequently along with frequent hand washing. The toilets and showers will be cleaned thoroughly and frequently by ourselves but we also expect our guests to use disinfectant cleaner before and after using the showers and toilets thus ensuring they are kept clean at all times.
If we are required to close due to COVID you will have the option to postpone your stay or request a full refund.
All cancellations must be confirmed by email and sent to as soon as possible quoting your name, our booking reference and reason for cancelling.
Depending on the date we receive your cancellation email, the following charges are applied
up to 60 days before arrival – full refund*
59-30 days before arrival – 50% refund
29 days – day of arrival – no refund
Open camping and touring pitches:
up to 28 days before arrival – full refund*
27-15 days before arrival – 50% refund
14 days – day of arrival – no refund
*less admin fee of £20
Cancellations made by you due to bad weather, travel failure, illness, late arrival, early departure or members of your group not showing up do not qualify for a refund.
If we have to cancel your holiday due to circumstances within our control, we will endeavour to offer you the option of an alternative pitch/site of a comparable standard subject to availability within the same booking season. No other compensation is available. ‘Force Majeure’ including Adverse Weather Conditions are NOT within our control and not eligible for refunds (please read more on this further down).
If we are required to close due to COVID you will have the option to postpone your stay or request a full refund.
IF WE CANCEL YOUR HOLIDAY
In exceptional circumstances including ‘Force Majeure’, it may be necessary and at the discretion of our staff to cancel part or all of your holiday on safety grounds, in these circumstances, no refunds are issued for any reason whatsoever.
FORCE MAJEURE - ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS
Bruton Meadow does not accept responsibility for anything that adversely affects your holiday that is outside of our control. These circumstances are known as ‘Force Majeure’ events and are circumstances that we could not, even with due care, have foreseen or avoided. Such circumstances include (but are not limited to) war, civil unrest, industrial action, terrorist activity, natural disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, foot and mouth disease, pandemics and all other similar events outside our control. We will endeavour to manage any problems caused as a result of a Force Majeure event but shall be under no obligation to do so and shall not be liable to you for any losses or additional expenses caused by a Force Majeure event.
GUEST UNFORESEEN EVENTS
We recommend you take out travel insurance, as we do not provide refunds for unforeseen events. “Unforeseen events” are defined, but not limited to: bereavement, jury service, personal illness or illness of someone within your party, risk of contagious disease, redundancy and unavoidable work commitments. We strongly advise that anyone falling ill with a highly infectious disease should act responsibly and stay away from public areas (and other holidaymakers). If in any doubt about the risks of exposing the public (and members of your holiday group) to a contagious disease, please seek medical advice. Some infectious diseases have the potential to cause serious health implications (or death), and as such, we will consider sending any holidaymaker home, who does not act responsibly, or who acts with intent to spread the infection.
During your stay at Bruton Meadow, members of our staff may take promotional photographs of guests enjoying themselves for our website and social media such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. We never reveal the names of any guests however if you would NOT like you or any of your family members to be displayed in any Bruton Meadow promotional material, please let us know.
